Spokane Complex Fire Starts in West Plains Area— the same area where Residents and local officials were actively fighting back against a proposed data center in Washington.
The Old Trails Fire (part of the Spokane Complex that has burned more than 7,000 acres, destroyed at least 600 structures, and forced roughly 60,000 evacuations) ignited Saturday in the West Plains near Airway Heights—the same general area where a major data center and hydrogen facility had recently been proposed on land near Medical Lake Highway and Hayford Road.
